Local flora from the hedgerows and ditches surrounding my house forms the basis of much of my jewellery. Bees wax, gathered by local bee keepers, plays a part in the transformation from organic to solid material. I am fascinated both by nature and by our past; it is a treasure which helps shape our present. In casting my jewellery I use a method based on pre-historic casting which was first used in 2,500BC (Bronze Age) in Ireland and most of Europe. This allows me to combine the ancient with the contemporary. All my work is unique and hand cast by me at my studio in West Cork.
