Drawing is seeing. Drawing is looking. Drawing is experiencing. For me, drawing is an essential part of my art practise. If I were unable to do anything else, I can always draw. I currently teach drawing to third level students and it is so satisfying when someone suddenly understands. It is not about being perfect, it is about letting the pen dance on the paper and do all the talking. Drawing also feeds into my other work. I always bring a notebook and pencil with me everywhere I go. It is my first port of call. Without drawing I would feel empty.
